Day 1: Arrive in Zermatt
On your arrival in Zermatt by train (2nd class) from the Swiss border or airport, step out and get transferred to the hotel. Enjoy Zermatt-a municipality in the district of Visp in the German-speaking section of the canton of Valais in Switzerland. On arrival, check-in and relax overnight at the hotel in Zermatt.
Day 2: Board train from Zermatt to Gornergrat and back to Zermatt
Post a filling breakfast head for an excursion by cogwheel railway up to the Gornergrat where you will have a superb panoramic view of the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and other snow-capped peaks rising to above 4000 m/13'000 ft. Return and stay overnight at the hotel in Zermatt.
Day 3: Board Glacier Express to St. Mortiz
After breakfast, check-out and board the Glacier Express and enjoy one of the greatest rail journeys in the world. A seven-and-half-hour rail journey takes you across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass at 2033m to reach St. Mortiz-a resort town in the Engadine valley in Switzerland. It is a municipality in the district of Maloja in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The highest summit in the Eastern Alps, the Piz Bernina, lies a few kilometres south of the town. On arrival, check-in and relax overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Day at leisure
Post breakfast, the day today is at leisure for you to explore St. Moritz on your own. Your overnight stay remains at the hotel in St. Moritz.
Day 5: Board Bernina Express to Lugano
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, board the Bernina Express of the Rhaetian Railway along the UNESCO World Heritage route and enjoy an Alpine ride that will take you from a land of towering glaciers to one of swaying palms. On arrival in Lugano, check-in and relax overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Depart from Lugano
Post breakfast at the hotel, check-out and return to Swiss border or airport to board your flight for back home. Or you may continue to stay in Switzerland at your own request.
